Whale Sharks

Kaia fell in love with whale sharks about two weeks ago.  Here, she tells you all about them...using the poster she made:

Transcript (as best as I can tell--she came up with this little presentation all by herself!):

Today we are going to talk about whale sharks.  You see, whale sharks are a funny kind of thing because they don't usually eat people.  That's because they're harmless.  That means they don't eat people at all.  They only eat plankton.  Plankton is a small kind of plant or animal that lives in the water.  You see, they have 3000 teeth!  So ask yourself, "Why do they have 3000 teeth if they only eat plankton?"  Maybe it's because they only...to protect...their...enemies?  Maybe.  But, we don't know this.  But, we do know it's as big as a bus!  But, it isn't a normal bus.  I mean, not a toy bus like this.  It's like a real bus.  Like, so, whenever you see a bus outside, say to yourself, "That is as big as a whale shark."  And also, whale sharks live in warm water.  And, they have 3,000 teeth!  And, that's the poster.  Oh! And some people dive with them, with whale sharks.  And that's the whale shark poster!  Bye, bye!

And, since we all love whale sharks now, here's a National Geographic clip with some fabulous pictures:

Julianna watches this cartoon called octonauts- which at first I said no to b/c I thought it was not educational - but I'll be darned, each episode teaches you about some kind of sea-life and she knows all kinds of sharks, whales, fish, eels, sea snakes, etc now! Too funny! :)
